They knew that if they were able to make this silence inaudible… That nothing evil could happen... that they would then be, yes, invincible and would at last be able to reorder the secrets, the mysteries of life.
Reordering, that was the aim.
And with a mathematical precision and a dedication one now only found in very young people, they decided to make the undoable doable. And they failed, of course."

Images of Affection is een verhaal  gebaseerd op een leugen. Over de leugen van de waarneming. Over hoe leegheid in tijd en ruimte opgevuld wordt met de leugen. Een verhaal dat verstrengeld zit in een netwerk van strijdige details. De paradox van de waarheid en hoe die overal binnendringt en de leegte opvult met gekleurde werkelijkheid.
Een verhaal zonder eind en zonder begin. Twee paradoxen die elkaar in het midden ontmoeten en vernietigen. Een constructie wordt opgebouwd bestaande uit beelden van affectie. Elke constructie betekent ook weer deconstructie. Tederheid ontaardt in geweld, gruwel wordt affectie. De transformatie van geweld naar affectie en omgekeerd. Alles wat aanwezig is, is denkbeeldig, alles wat warm is wordt ook weer koud,
Alles wat helder is wordt weer duister, duisternis kan verlicht worden. De herinnering aan het verleden wordt ongewild toekomst.
Wat betekent een leugen of een verkondigde waarheid in het licht van de voorstelling. De kroniek van een aangekondigde dood.
Het tragische verhaal van geluk.
Maar ook dat is onwaar.
